“I’ve had a lot of experience with the first incarnation of the Quark Interactive Designer, QuarkImmedia: I wrote a book on it, taught it, and used it quite a bit. It was by far the easiest way for print-oriented designers to produce multi-media multimedia. I used it for my own class presentations, produced new client presentations for a New York ad agency that blew PowerPoint out of the water, and made promotional multi-media multimedia projects for several companies. The high cost of the product and the fact that it required its own player were major obstacles for most designers. The idea for the Quark Interactive Designer-- —to update QuarkImmedia to an application that produces Flash output — was a very smart one. I work with designers at publishing companies and design firms who have to produce Web materials and don’t have the time it takes to learn Flash.
