Quark ALAP Imposer and dropped items

  • Windows® only: The following resolution corrects an issue with dropped page items when printing on Windows from Quark ALAP Imposer for QuarkXPress®.

    1. Select File > Page Setup to display the print window. Set the printer and properties settings, which allow you to set the size of your document. Change the default setting (Letter) to A4 or to the dimensions of your document under your custom settings selection. Click Capture Settings and save your document.
    2. 2. Select Quark ALAP Imposer when you are ready to print your document. Determine the Quark ALAP Imposer settings and click Print. In the print dialog box, click Properties to ensure that your settings were captured. You should see the correct page size. If the document defaults to Letter, select the page size that matches your document.

Note: If you are working with files that have been created from versions of QuarkXPress earlier than version 4.1, you must clean some resources out of your files before you open them. To clean these resources out of the files, press Alt when you open the file using the Open dialog box.

Print to Disk from QuarkXPress

  • Windows only: Start QuarkXPress. Click Imposer and choose your settings (your trims and bleeds, for example). Click Print. The QuarkXPress printer dialog box displays. (This dialog box is the only place to set printer orientation and PPD.) Choose your PrintToDisk printer from the Printer drop-down menu. Click Properties and check that the page size you want is available. In the Setup tab, select your printer PPD. If you do not have a PPD, select Generic Color for color output or Generic Imagesetter for file output only. The Page (Range Separators) is useful when making files. To make files, print pages singly or all odd pages and all even pages for printing. You must add any other page information you need. One suggestion is to check Quark® PostScript Error Handling.
