Compatible with QuarkXPress 6

“Quark ALAP ImagePort is astonishing.”

ImagePort 1.4

Imagine the time you would save if you never had to flatten a Photoshop® file again. Use multi-layer Photoshop pictures directly within QuarkXPress®. Support for adjustment layers means you can place multiple versions of the same picture in one picture box and turn layers on or off with a mouse click. With Quark ALAP ImagePort XTensions software, you can import native Photoshop files directly into QuarkXPress. Once imported, you can then manipulate the layers, channels, and paths of those pictures. This integration between Photoshop and QuarkXPress streamlines workflow, expands creative possibilities, and saves hard drive space.

Quark ALAP ImagePort features:

Quark ALAP ImagePort supports all layer blend modes from within QuarkXPress and ensures that QuarkXPress renders your pictures as though you were in Photoshop.

ImagePort blends

  • Support grayscale, RGB, CMYK, index, and multi-channel image modes.
  • Skip the usual step of flattening a picture and saving it in a different file format for import into QuarkXPress.
  • Stop switching between QuarkXPress and Photoshop to adjust a picture.
  • Save hard disk space by using only one file in both Photoshop and QuarkXPress.
  • Store several versions of the same picture in a single Photoshop file, import the picture into a QuarkXPress project, show and hide the layers easily, and control which version of the picture prints.
  • Experiment with different versions of a picture within a layout by simply switching layers and storing several backdrop pictures in the same Photoshop file.
  • Modify opacities and try different blend methods such as dissolve, lighten, and difference — all within the context of the entire layout.
  • Assign channels to be spot colors, varnishes, embossing, die cuts, or other special effects.
  • Print color separations of RGB, CMYK, multichannel, and indexed colors from QuarkXPress.
  • Replace selected indexed colors with spot colors.
  • Choose different clipping paths to control which areas of the picture display.
  • Explore different text wrap options by choosing different paths saved with a picture.

Len Williams
“Our workflow has changed dramatically. We now save tons of time and disk space since we aren't limited to importing flattened TIFF and EPS files

“Clients are notorious for last minute changes, which is why ImagePort is such an amazing and time-saving XTension. We frequently build 100 to 300 megabyte multi-layered Photoshop images and then print a variety of client proofs. ImagePort saves gigabytes of disk space since we only need one file that can be modified within QuarkXPress itself! Producing a series of prints is now just a few minutes' work because we've already built the variations into the Photoshop image. ImagePort is an XTension that should have come along years ago”

Len Williams, Design Strategies, Inc.

Ray Sanford
“Now we can output unlimited variations of comps from a single Photoshop file.

“The ability to turn on and off layers, channels and paths offers us unlimited creativity in the production stage. No more switching back and forth between Photoshop and QuarkXPress.”
