Following is a list of issues in Quark® License Administrator 3.5.
Quark is working to resolve these issues.
Mac OS® only: Quark technical staff does not recommend running QLA 3.5 on Mac OS 10.4. If you do need to run it on Mac OS 10.4, use the following workaround to install it:
1. Run the following commands in the Terminal window:
A. cd /
B. cd Library
C. sudo chown -R <adminusername logged on administrator> StartupItems
2. Install QLA Server 3.5, restart the computer, and log on. An alert displays to notify you that the "Startup Items" folder does not have the proper security settings.
3. Click Fix and restart the computer.
Windows® only: The QLA installer quits unexpectedly upon trying to install it on high-end servers.
Mac OS only: When using QLA with QuarkXPress Passport®, the size of the Control Panel Client dialog box becomes too large for a 17-inch monitor if the resolution is less than or equal to 1024x768.
As a workaround, set your computer resolution equal to or above 1152x870.
Windows only: You cannot generate remote license file for users with user names containing special characters.
If you reinstall QLA Server and specify a user name that is different from that of the previous installation, the pools and lists of local administrators will be lost when you attempt to edit them.
Windows only: With Arabic, Hebrew, and Farsi languages, when you launch the installers for the QLA Server or the Control Panel Client, the first screen of the installation wizard displays only question marks.
