Resolved Issues

Following is a list of issues resolved in Quark Publishing System® (QPS®) Classic 3.5.6.

QuarkDispatch XTensions software

  • Mac OS® X and Windows® XP: QuarkXPress® projects that are checked out from QuarkDispatch now close properly in the following scenarios:
    • You choose QuarkDispatch > Abort Project Check Out for a minimized project.
    • You click Abort Check Out in the Query palette when the clipboard is the active window.
    • You choose QuarkDispatch > Abort Project Check Out (or click Abort Check Out in the Query palette) for a minimized project when the clipboard is open and the project is open in the read-only mode and minimized.
  • Mac OS X only: In QuarkXPress, the Update All Content command (QuarkDispatch menu) now updates all the attached articles with the latest content.
  • Windows only: QuarkXPress no longer quits unexpectedly or displays an alert when you choose QuarkDispatch > Abort Project Check Out for projects that contain a "/" character in their file names.
  • Mac OS X only: QuarkXPress no longer quits unexpectedly when you cancel the check-out of a project that contains multiple attachments of grouped text boxes that were randomly changed in the Modify dialog box and you chose Edit > Undo between changes.
  • Mac OS X only: QuarkXPress no longer quits unexpectedly when you choose Edit > Undo or File > Revert to Saved in a project that contains grouped text boxes with geometries that have been updated multiple times.
  • Mac OS X and Windows: Character style sheets are changed in the paragraph style sheets in the following scenario:
    1. You append QuarkXPress preferences to a configuration file for a publication in which user-created paragraph style sheets and character style sheets are available.
    2. You create a QuarkXPress project and add a character style sheet, and then you check in this project to the publication to which you appended the QuarkXPress preferences.
    3. You check out this project and update the preferences.

QuarkDispatch Manager

  • Mac OS X only: The application no longer displays deleted QuarkXPress projects in the Recover Damaged Files dialog box and the Query palette after you restart the QuarkDispatch server.

QuarkCopyDesk

  • Mac OS X only: When QuarkXPress users choose QuarkDispatch > Update All Content, the content for all attached articles is updated with the latest content.
  • Mac OS X and Windows: The system no longer displays an alert to QuarkCopyDesk International English users who choose Utilities > Check Spelling for an article that was created by choosing File > New > From Section.
  • Mac OS X and Windows: The system no longer displays an alert when you open a saved and modified copy of a checked-out article.
  • Mac OS X only: Both the U.S. English and International English versions of QuarkCopyDesk now enable users to convert an article in multiple languages into one language before checking in the article.
  • Mac OS X only: QuarkCopyDesk no longer fails to respond in the following scenario:
    1. You check out a QuarkXPress project that contains an attached article.
    2. On another user's computer, you check out the same article in QuarkCopyDesk, add text in a font that is unavailable on the QuarkXPress machine, and check in the article.
    3. You choose QuarkDispatch > Update Content in QuarkXPress. The Missing Font dialog box displays, and you leave it open.
    4. You choose QuarkDispatch > Check Out in QuarkCopyDesk.
    5. The following alert displays in QuarkCopyDesk, and the application fails to respond: "Waiting to access file server."
  • Mac OS X and Windows: The application no longer quits unexpectedly when you delete a component of a QuarkCopyDesk article in Galley view.

  • Mac OS X only: The system no longer displays an error when you attempt to check in a Microsoft® Excel® file.

  • Windows only: Umlaut characters in an inserted note no longer change to other characters when you check out articles that contain the note in QuarkXPress and QuarkCopyDesk.
